After two years of planning, organizing, and praying - The 11th International Conference of Christian Surfers International is complete. Every two years our international community gets together for meetings, teachings, fellowship, and worship and this year marked the first time that it was held in a Spanish speaking country. That country just-so happened to be Costa Rica. In total we were 220 participants representing 26 different countries.
Being the Regional Coordinator for North America, it was my job to host and organize conference with the Costa Rica team. We spent many hours in preparation for what God would do at conference and we were stoked with what He did with all of us. Britt Merrick (son of famous surfboard shaper Al Merrick) was the main speaker and took us through the book of II Timothy and touched many lives through his passionate, gospel-centered teaching. Various other speakers touched on different topics pertaining to our mission as we checked our pulse on where we are as a ministry currently and where we are going as a ministry in the future.
While I am glad that the conference is over and was a huge success, I also already miss having everyone together. The CS Community has become my family and it was like a big family reunion for me having everyone together in Costa Rica. Having such different cultures all together praying and worshiping our Lord was simply breath-taking. It really allows you to see how big our God truly is.
In the North America region, we have 12 countries doing CS ministry. 9 of those nations were present in Costa Rica and you can see their photos below. I've attached a bunch of other photos as well with descriptions, but if you would like to see the entire conference blog you can go to christiansurfers.net/groundswell2014
